Well, that would be a very sensible thing to think. Because of course, not everything you read is true. People make up stories all the time, don’t they? But in this case, you absolutely can believe what you read. These stories have been passed around school yards across the county, often in hushed tones as to avoid the detection of teachers’ ears. If teachers heard these tales, they would immediately determine that they are works of fiction. You see, adults do not like any nonsense. No nonsense at all is their preferred amount of the stuff. But we know the truth - that nothing is impossible. 

So, although these stories may seem fanciful and even a little farfetched, the people in these stories once walked the school grounds, just like you! You can believe me as I have no reason to lie to you. I, the author, or should I say re-teller of these stories did not write them but are simply passing them on. 

They are really, very real. And that’s the truth of the matter. So, enjoy what you are about to read. And maybe one day, you will have some very tall tales of your own to share.
